Microsoft Edge Policy Documentation

Microsoft Edge can be managed using Registry changes. Follow the steps below to access and read the policy documentation.

Accessing the Documentation

To access the documentation, open a web browser and navigate to Microsoft Edge Browser Policy Documentation | Microsoft Docs

Reading the Documentation

Reading the documentation is simple and is broken into groups of information.

The first group of information, Support Versions, explains which versions of Edge support the policy.

The second group, the Description group, breaks down what the policy does and how each value affects Microsoft Edge.

The Supported features group contains information of policy adherence and refresh capabilities. For instance, if a policy can be made mandatory or recommended. Recommended policies can be overridden, mandatory policies cannot. Dynamic Policy refresh allows Edge to refresh the policy without restarting.

The Group Policy section explains where the specific group policy setting lives.

The Windows Registry sections explains what the registry key name and type need to be. Reg_SZ is a string.

Finally the Mac information section explains what the configuration file key needs to be named.
