Installing the Group Policy Templates

The group policy templates for Microsoft Edge must be downloaded from Microsoft before they can be pushed out. Follow the steps below to download and install the Group Policy templates.

Download the Group Policy Template

1. Navigate to Download Microsoft Edge for business – Microsoft.
2. Scroll down to Download the latest build and version of Edge for Business
3. Under the Windows 64-bit download, click Windows 64-bit Policy
4. When prompted, click Accept and download.

Install the Group Policy Templates

The policy templates must be installed on each machine that manages the Group Policy.

1. Open the MicrosoftEdgePolicyTemplates.CAB file and extract the Zip file.
2. Open the Zip file and extract the Windows\admx\msedge.admx and Windows\admx\msedgeupdate.admx files to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions
3. Back in the Zip file, extract the Windows\admx\en-Us\msedge.adml and Windows\admx\en-Us\msedgeupdate.adml files to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-Us
